A blog to bring together bird sightings from the lower Cuckmere and Ouse valleys, and the spaces between them.

There’s a lot going on in the area – seawatching at Splash Point, Ospreys at Arlington Reservoir, egrets and wildfowl in the valley beds and classic chalk birds and raptors on the downland.

The aim of the Cuckmere-Ouse Bird Blog will be to enhance the ability for local birders to share and talk about their sightings, and to find new ways of organising local knowledge using micro-blogging.

  1. A couple of weekends ago while visiting Arlington we spotted three Egyptian Geese, haven’t seen many references to this unusual occurrence (just one on the S.O.S.). I’ve been visiting the reservoir for many years albeit sporadically, and have never come across them before, I assume they are escapee’s but my knowledge is very limited, can anyone shed any light please. b.
